This does not seem to be for Microstation but for Mindjet (a piece for mind mapping, perhaps?). Seems to be taken from the online help of said software. Sad.

Fixed now and it should show the correct page; There was a mishap on an edit a few days ago where I edited and copied &pasted the wrong XML file into this page.

Many organizations have adopted virtualization practices to keepup with rapidly changing hardware and softwarerequirements. Virtualization lets you run your applications ona virtual machine, isolated within a server. You need fewerphysical machines and can pool computer resources.

Virtual installation eligibility

The ability to use your software in a virtual environmentdepends on what product you're using, how you purchased it, andwhether the terms of use for that purchase planpermit virtualization. Check the system requirements of yoursoftware to be sure it will run in a virtual environment.

To verify that your software is eligible for use in a virtualenvironment, review the terms of access and use for your purchaseplan.

  • Purchase plans that allow some form of virtualization:
    • Subscription plans with single-user access oran Enterprise Business Agreement. Managers can deploysoftware so that an assigned user can access it from multipledevices, but only one authorized user can access a single licenseat a time.
      • Single-user subscription requires users to sign in to authorizetheir software access. If your virtual environment does not retainthe user's MAC address on restart, the user will be required tosign in to every session to access their software.
    • Network license servers, server components, orserver-based product components. These are included withnetwork license plans and subscriptions with multi-useraccess. You can virtualize server components on-premises onyour own WAN, or off-premises through a third-party cloud provider. If you choose an off-premise option, ensure that:
      • The hosted software is properly secured by your third-partycloud provider.
      • You can control access to and us of the remotely hostedsoftware.
  • Purchase plans that do not allow virtualization:
    • Subscriptions with multi-user access.
    • Maintenance plans.

Technical support for virtual installation

Autodesk provides technical support to make sure that yoursoftware works properly, but doesn't provide technical support foryour virtual environment. If you have an issue that requirestechnical support, our support experts may need to verify that theissue is related to your software and not the virtual environment. They may ask you to replicate the problematic behavior in aphysical environment. If it can be replicated, they will providesupport. If it can't be replicated, you should contact yourvirtualization provider for support.
